Responsible for teaching pure and applied mathematics through technology, real-world modeling, and problem solving, the Teacher creates an inclusive, reflective environment anchored in our mission to challenge and inspire students each day to love learning and shape a better world. Working collaboratively with mathematics colleagues and the wider Middle School and Senior School, the Teacher guides students through extended investigations and projects.

  • Language & Inclusion: Integrate English language development and multilingual learning strategies into mathematics instruction, recognizing that all teachers at Branksome Hall Asia are English language teachers.

  • Assessment & Feedback: Use formative and summative assessment to guide instruction and monitor progress. Communicate learning goals, expectations, and feedback clearly to students and parents, and maintain accurate records within reporting deadlines.

  • Collaboration & Curriculum: Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum design, vertical articulation, assessment moderation, and interdisciplinary learning, and embed service learning into the curriculum.

  • Student Well-being & Relationships: Support social-emotional development through Advisory/Homeroom responsibilities, build rapport based on mutual respect, and establish positive relationships with parents, faculty, and staff while upholding a safe, inclusive culture that values intercultural understanding and child safeguarding.

  • Co-Curricular Contribution: Participate in co-curricular programming, including Week Without Walls and CASE (Creativity, Activity, Service, Enrichment) after-school programs.

  • Professional Practice: Demonstrate the Qualities of Effective Teachers (Stronge, 2018) in professional knowledge, planning, delivery, assessment, learning environment, and professionalism. Engage in professional learning and reflective practice.
