HEALTH AND WELLNESS TEACHER

The classroom teacher reports directly to the divisional Administration. Their primary function is to facilitate the development of the student in the cognitive, affective, ethical, emotional, social and physical domains of his/her growth. The teacher works collaboratively with all faculty, staff, parents, and students to effectively implement the curriculum and strive to ensure all interactions meet the needs of all students in line with the mission, vision, and values of the school.

• Develop and deliver science curriculum using NGSS standards

• Parent resource - teacher will be an expert in these areas to offer support and guidance to parents. The support, information and training will be provided in the Condor Current and as a presenter at PTA meetings and other forums at the school.

• MS Advisory - teacher would have an Advisory (like all teachers who are full time and not in the Year Level Leadership role)

Qualifications: 

● Certification as a school Health teacher   

● A Bachelor's Degree in Education

● Experience as a middle school Health teacher 

● Strong English language proficiency

● Experience in an overseas international school 

Preferred Skills and Expertise: 

• Deep understanding of the developmental needs of middle school students 

• Experience in implementing developmentally appropriate programs related to Social-Emotional Learning (preferably using the RULER framework of emotional awareness and regulation)

• Ability to build constructive, inclusive communities 

• Recent and relevant professional development in the field of health and wellness

• Proven ability to work in a culturally diverse environment 

• Experience and expertise in running effective parent education workshops
