MYP/DP Theatre

Position Overview:

KAS is seeking a dynamic, caring, knowledgeable High School MYP/DP Theatre teacher. Five years of drama or theater arts teaching experience (in English) are required. Prior experience teaching the IBDP Theatre course is preferred, and IB Middle Years Program (MYP) and/or National Core Arts Standards experience is valued. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading school musical productions and be able to demonstrate experience mentoring youth in theater arts and to prepare class-based and community based theater productions.

Candidates should possess the interpersonal skills to collaborate with other teachers, students, and community volunteers in support of the extra-curricular theatre program.  Other desired skills include tech confidence, a willingness to support smaller-scale performances, and a commitment to excellence in a student-centered school. We look for teachers with a flexible “can do” approach to teaching, a sense of humor, and a desire to contribute to school improvement as a team player. Subject area and grade level collaboration is a strong value in our school.

About KAS:

Kaohsiung American School (KAS) is a private, not-for-profit day school established in 1989 for the children of expatriate families in Kaohsiung.
